Terms of Service
Help-In-Hand LLC
Last updated: October 15, 2026
These Terms of Service apply to your use of thehelpinhand.com and to any service from Help-In-Hand LLC ("Help-In-Hand," "we," "us"). By using our website or our services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Our service
Help-In-Hand connects restaurants and other businesses with experienced independent drivers who use their own vehicles. We also arrange personal deliveries and cargo deliveries. We set up and coordinate this work. We are not a restaurant, a seller of goods, or an employer of drivers.
2. Independent contractor drivers
Drivers are independent contractors. They are not employees, agents, or partners of Help-In-Hand.
- Each driver supplies their own vehicle and carries their own insurance.
- Help-In-Hand does not provide workers' compensation.
- Businesses pay drivers directly at the end of each shift, at a rate agreed between the business and the driver.
3. Fees and payment
- Our fee is $1 per hour or $1 per delivery, depending on the arrangement.
- There are no contracts and no hidden fees.
- Our fee is billed weekly and can be paid by Zelle, Cash App, or PayPal.
- Driver pay is separate from our fee and is paid directly to the driver.
- Personal and cargo delivery prices are quoted before the job is booked.
4. Scheduling, cancellations, and replacements
- Businesses can request coverage by text or phone. Please give as much notice as possible.
- To cancel or change a shift or delivery, contact us as soon as you can, and ideally at least 24 hours ahead. If a driver has already been dispatched, the fee for that job may still apply.
- If an assigned driver can't make it, we'll try to send a replacement. We can't guarantee that a driver will always be available.
5. Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- give us accurate names, phone numbers, addresses, and order details;
- not ask us to deliver anything illegal, dangerous, or prohibited by law;
- package items properly; and
- treat drivers and our staff with respect.
We may refuse or stop service if these Terms are broken.
6. Text messages
By giving us your phone number, you agree that Help-In-Hand may text you about scheduling, shift assignments, and delivery updates. The number of messages varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. You don't have to agree to receive texts in order to buy our services. See our Privacy Policy for details.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- Help-In-Hand is not responsible for drivers' acts or omissions, for vehicle accidents, or for loss of, damage to, or delay of goods. Those claims are between you, the driver, and the driver's insurance.
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits.
- Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid Help-In-Hand for the specific service involved.
8. No warranties
Our services and website are provided "as is." We do not promise uninterrupted availability or specific delivery times.
9. Indemnification
You agree to cover Help-In-Hand for claims that come from your misuse of our services or from breaking these Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and in Passaic County where possible.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. If you keep using our services after a change, that means you accept the updated Terms.
